This cemetery is on “Farmington,” the former farm of William Pegram Buford (20 Jul 1807 - 16 Dec 1868) and Lucy Rice (13 Mar 1817 - 27 Aug 1895). A single large stone that reads “BUFORD FAMILY CEMETERY” includes the names and year of birth and death of William and Lucy, children Margaret (4 May 1841 - 16 Oct 1910), James (29 Apr 1845 - 26 Sep 1913), and Mary (11 Apr 1842), and Mary's husband James Allen Phillips (5 Jan 1852 - 14 Sep 1875) and two of their children who died in infancy, Virginia (16 Jul 1872 - 2 Feb 1875) and James Jr. (21 Jan 1874 - 16 Feb 1875).
