Dugger Family Cemetery

This cemetery is located 15 ft west of Grandy Rd. (Route 644), and approx. 300 yd. south of Boydton Plank Rd. (Route 1). The 33 ft x 23 ft, well-kept cemetery is surrounded by a 2-3 ft high rock wall more than 1 ft thick and the gate is framed by 2 large, 5 ft tall rock columns. There is evidence of an additional grave, assumed to be that of a child by its small size. Although there is room for perhaps 3 more graves, there is no evidence of any. |

This cemetery contains the remains of Thomas Henry Dugger, his wife, Lavinia Smith, and their son Wilbur Jones. According to Civil War Soldiers from Brunswick County, Virginia, Thomas' father Pvt. John Jones Dugger is buried here, CWS f BCV, pp. 166-67. |
