Col. Huff married first Priscilla H. Steed in Brunswick County, 3 Apr (bond) 1840, BCVM, p. 66. In 1850 Daniel and Priscilla, ages 35 and 30, had four children in their household, Family 258. He was married to “Sallie” and living in Meherrin District by 1860 when seven children appeared in their household, including three-year-old Donaldson Huff and two-year-old Frederick M. Huff, Family 222. Apparently uncounted in 1860, ten-year-old Preston B., presumably Preston Brooks Huff, buried nearby, appeared in the 1870 census, Family 1100.
